Children's church

While we are unable to meet in person, we hope to connect with our families through a weekly Church newsletter. This will include activities that families can do at home together to explore the theme that we would have been reflecting on in church. Please email if you would like to be added to our distribution list.

We love to welcome children into church throughout the week but Sundays are extra special! If you would like to join us for Sunday worship with your family please check the service times here first. Generally the 9.15am service is the most family-friendly and your children will be able to go into age-appropriate groups to get stuck into bible teaching as well as fun and games that are suitable for them. We also have a monthly Worship For All service that is a lively, contemporary and family friendly service at the more sociable time of 10.45am! Whenever you turn up, you are guaranteed a warm welcome.

Groups

If your children would like to go out into our children's church groups they will be in either Pebbles (up to school Year 2) or Stepping Stones (Year 3 and above). All our volunteers have passed DDC checks and are trained in safeguarding procedures. If your child has specific or additional needs, please speak to their group leader at the start of the session so that we can accommodate them, or click here to contact our families worker, Katie, anytime by email.

Please don't worry if your little one is noisy or fidgety in church... they are very welcome just as they are. However, if you feel the need to take them out, there are toys in the welcome area which they are always welcome to play with during services. One of the stewards will be able to turn the speakers on for you so that you can still listen to the service if you wish. We understand the challenges of bringing small children to church and hope it won't deter you!

Pebbles (0-7 years)

In our group for younger children (including a creche corner for babies/younger toddlers) we take a very interactive and multi-sensory approach to sharing bible stories. There is usually a follow-up craft activity but everything is hands-on with plenty of time to play.

Stepping Stones (8 years +)

In our group for older children we allow time to explore a bible story or theme with discussion  and follow-up activities. We also make time to have fun and play games. We encourage the young people to ask questions to delve deeper into the Christian faith and allow their young faith to blossom. We hope that children will contribute to the sessions and make suggestions for activities or themes they would like us to cover.
